Established in 2010, Combo Press is the collaborative effort of Amy Pirkle and Bill Hall. They first met during the 2010 winter residency at Penland School of Crafts, where Amy was the master printer in letterpress, and Bill was the master printer in printmaking. The first book that they printed collaboratively, Close to Home, was finished in 2011. Bill and Amy are currently working on their second book, Mapped, and hope to continue collaborations well into the future.

Close to Home is traveling to San Francisco in January 2012. The book will be on display in the Skylight Gallery in the San Francisco Public Library as part of the exhibit "BiblioTech: CBAA Juried Members’ Exhibition."

Bill and Amy displayed their book, Close to Home, and 22 accompanying prints from September 28 - October 28, 2011 in the Sella-Granata Art Gallery at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
