Crutches by Gordon Johnston In his poem, Johnston remembers his high school days of falling in love with every girl who had crutches. The toes poking out of the end of a cast, "a row of shrinking red faces like those secretly hollow dolls that nest inside each other," were the inspiration for this brightly colored reduction linoleum print. The style of book is a French fold, and can be displayed either as a broadside or folded into 4 page book. Letterpress printed from metal type and linoleum blocks in the spring of 2005.
